United Presbyterian Church offers many opportunities for growth and service. You are always welcome to participate. Contact the church office, our pastor, or check the calendar

Personal Growth and Christian Nurture

  • Sunday School for all ages meets at 9:45 am on Sundays. We have six adult classes so there is one for you!
  • Youth Groups – both Senior High and Junior High have their own Sunday School classes and special opportunities for fellowship and service.
  • Sunday Evening Golf League (Summer Time).
  • Tuesday Evening Volleyball League (Summer Time).
  • FOTC Friends of the Carpenter makes building improvements in conjunction with our Building and Property Committee.
  • TLC (Together Let’s Clean) gathers once or twice a month to deep clean one or more rooms in the building.
  • Choir – (The Cathedral Singers) practices weekly at 7:30 pm on Thursdays. Marie Taylor directs.
  • Bell Choir – (The Cathedral Ringers) practices weekly at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Marie Taylor directs.
  • New Creation Praise Band – Practices at 7:00 on Wednesdays with Mike Simms as Interim Contemporary Music Leader.
  • Children’s Choir practices on the 2nd Sunday at 10:15 a.m. This choir is led by Marie Taylor.

*Free Community Meal on the 2nd Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The meal is prepared by and hosted by different church groups.
*Food Pantry is on the 4th Saturday of every month. We serve between 60-70 families each month. The Food Pantry has a different schedule during holiday times. This year at Christmas we served 102 families. Reservations are required so call in for those reservations is the Wednesday night before Pantry Saturday from 7:00-8:00 at 330-923-9735.

  • Don’t Mention Age (DMA) on the 3rd Thursday has a pot luck lunch and program. All ages are welcome.
  • Women’s Circle – Ruth Circle meets the 4th Monday of the month. Bible study and Fellowship
  • Heart to Heart Prayer Ministry for those in need of prayer is on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 in the Sanctuary.
  • Project RISE meets the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry makes prayer shawls to give to those who need to be “surrounded by prayer.”
  • Iron Chef Fundraiser for Relay for Life (May of 2019).
  • Fairways for Food Golf Outing Fundraiser for our Food Pantry (September of 2019).
  • Relay for Life. United has a team every year at the Cuyahoga Falls Relay for Life (June of 2019).
  • Trunk or Treat. Fun, food and fellowship (October).
  • Rare Treasure and LOL women’s ministry groups. Rare Treasure is for the “older” women and LOL is for the “younger” women. They decide when and where they want to meet for fellowship and friendship and learning in Christ.

Beyond the Community

  • The congregation supports the four annual special offerings through the PC(USA): One Great Hour of Sharing (Easter), Pentecost Offering, Peacemaking Offering (October) and the Christmas Joy Offering (December).

  • The congregation supports the Syrian Refugee Children’s schools in Lebanon in partnership with the Evangelical Church of Lebanon.
  • The congregation encourages attendance at the “New Wilmington Mission Conference” which is typically in July at Westminster College. :
  • The congregation supports mission trips including Esperanza, which builds homes for those in need in Mexico.
