Youth Programs and Activities

The senior high youth (grades 9-12) and junior high/middle school youth groups (grades 6-8) are active. Senior highs currently meet Sunday Evenings and Junior Highs on Wednesdays. We have youth serving on national committees such as National Presbytery Youth Council and the Synod Youth Connection Design Team. The youth also attend conferences such as the National Youth Triennium, and the New Wilmington Mission Conference.

The senior high youth go on a mission trip every other year. Youth and several adults have served various communities with housing improvements, child care, soup kitchen help, and other projects.

Other community service projects completed by both youth groups include 30-hour famine, the Souper Bowl, and the CROP Walk.

The youth also serve our Church as well. The youth groups prepare and serve a free Soup Lunch each year, participate in the pantry packing and preparing care packages for college students. Youth also volunteer to assist with both VBS and Amazement Park, serve on Christian Education committee, Deacons and other committees. Each year, the Confirmation class plans and leads the Easter Sunrise Service.

The youth also have many fun fellowship opportunities: Confirmation class retreat, campouts, whitewater rafting and canoe trips, hayrides, outings to Laser Tag, a summer swim party and picnic, lock-ins, sledding, Christmas Caroling, video scavenger hunts, mystery dinners, and attending live productions such as Dead Serious about Life. Fundraising activities include car washes, silent auctions, and workdays.
